“Families need more than a food pack to survive”. This was the theme for the Super Happy Magic Forest Project which went ahead thanks to the CAP Fund grant. With everywhere closed down in lockdown there wasn’t much for children of the Saffron Estate and Braunstone to do when school work finished.
So the money from the CAP grant bought books, craft materials and bags to be distributed to children on the estates. Six volunteers made up 200 packs of new and donated books and craft materials, which were distributed from Covid-safe areas of the adventure playgrounds. Comments from several appreciative parents included: “Helped as I’m a single parent.” “Helped us survive as times are getting very stressful.” “Happy to see the joy on my daughter’s face when given the pack.”
