Who we are

Our team

Katy Green

Chief Executive

Katy works alongside the Board of Trustees to develop the strategic direction of the Community Foundation, and with the team to ensure that we continue to respond effectively to local needs. She connects with and supports donors and funders setting up grant-giving funds.

She joined from EM Media, after working as a producer in educational not-for-broadcast films, and before that in play work,  environment and community consultation projects. She has MAs in Documentary Film and Television Production, and in Modern English and American Literature.

In her spare time, she likes writing, reading, films, running quite slowly, and dancing at parties. She has a strong interest in the environment. 

Trust Mazokera

Finance Manager

Trust is responsible for all aspects of financial administration to ensure our processes are fully robust, transparent, tracked and reported as required, monitoring and reporting on the constant flow of funds in and out of the Community Foundation,

Trust worked in administration at Leicester University, Boden and the NHS before joining the Community Foundation in 2014. She has a degree in Business Management. She likes socialising and spending time with her family and church, and she’s a keen swimmer.

Hafsa Mitha

Philanthropy Executive

Hafsa joined as Philanthropy Executive in summer 2023. Her role is to build on our existing partnership working with professional advisors as well as work with existing and new donors.

She worked for 14 years in the public sector where she gained experience of outreach, project and partnership management, and was subsequently an entrepreneur running a business in the wellbeing field. She has an MSc in Public Service Commissioning and has worked on projects with the voluntary sector.

In her spare time, Hafsa loves to cook and eat with family and friends; gardening, in particular cultivating roses. She also enjoys meditating and crocheting baby blankets. 

Nell Haswell-Hammond

Grants officer

Nell joined the Community Foundation in 2018 and has played a big role in building our grant-giving systems and supporting groups. She oversees our current grant-giving.  

Nell has a degree in Psychology and enjoys cooking, catching up on her favourite TV series and spending time with friends and family.

Rachel Radford

Administrative officer (freelance)

Rachel joined the Foundation towards the end of 2021 on a freelance basis.  Her role is to provide high quality administrative support to the team at the Foundation and the Board of Trustees.  She comes from an Executive Assistant role working with the senior clergy in the Diocese of Leicester. She hopes her enthusiasm for organising will make life easier for the rest of the team!

When not working she spends time with her family and Lily the dog.  She enjoys reading, knitting and going to the theatre.

Alexzandra Jackson

grants officer

Alex joined the team in the Autumn of 2023, and it’s her responsibility to manage the grant-giving of donors and funders to achieve their giving aims, while also meeting the needs of local charitable groups and the communities they serve.

Before joining the foundation, Alex was a BFI NETWORK Talent Executive, working to discover and nurture early-career filmmakers in the Midlands – supporting them to access available funding and develop their film projects. Prior to her role with BFI NETWORK, she managed the Learning and Talent Programme for Phoenix Cinema and Art Centre. With a background in exhibition, production and education, her career focus is creating and widening access to opportunities.

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, watching films and fussing over her cat and has promised herself she will learn to skateboard before she’s 40.

Alanah Carey-Peacher

grants impact assistant

Alanah joined the team in Spring 2023. In her role as Grants Impact Assistant, she supports the Community Foundation to gather information about projects as well as comms and administrative support. 

She started her first charity sector job through the Kickstart scheme in 2021 supporting website management, social media engagement and writing case studies. Alanah is passionate about people and the environment; she has plans to volunteer for The Wildlife Trust and study ecology.

In her spare time Alanah enjoys spending time with family and friends, kick boxing, and connecting with nature through walks, gardening, and spirituality. 

Harry Sturman

grants and funds Assistant

Harry joined the foundation in May 2023 to support the grant-giving process and now also supports in financial administration.

He has a degree in Film and Journalism and enjoys travelling, baking, gardening, and visiting World Heritage Sites.
