Dave’s career spans from Deputy Head of a comprehensive school in Leicestershire, to presenter, producer and commentator with BBC Radio Leicester. He is a Deputy Lieutenant of Leicestershire, and acts as Communications Advisor to the Lord Lieutenant, as well as Chair of the committee promoting the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in the County. He has been involved with many charitable initiatives over the years, including forming Applause, a CIC solely concerned with raising money for a number of local charities whilst promoting local music and musicians.

He worked with the Community Foundation to review and support many local charitable and voluntary groups as we delivered c£1.25m emergency coronavirus support grants, and continues using his journalistic background with stories that showcase the achievements of the charitable, voluntary and community groups which do so much to help our local area thrive.
