Market Harborough Building Society has launched the second round of its Community Fund, making £45,000 available to local voluntary and community groups working to address poverty and disadvantage across the Society’s trading area.
The fund will open for applications on 2nd February, with a deadline of Monday 6th April, and will award grants of up to £5,000 to eligible organisations.
The programme is being managed by Leicestershire & Rutland Community Foundation (LRCF), building on the success of the first round of funding awarded in March 2025, which supported a range of grassroots organisations delivering vital help to people facing hardship in their communities.
The Community Fund is open to charities, community groups and not-for-profit organisations whose work supports people experiencing disadvantage, including but not limited to financial hardship, food insecurity, social isolation, and barriers to accessing essential services.
Lesley Vernon, Chief Engagement Officer for Market Harborough Building Society said:
“We are proud to be investing directly in the communities we serve. Local voluntary and community organisations play a critical role in supporting people through challenging times, and this fund is designed to help them continue and grow that work.”
Leicestershire & Rutland Community Foundation will administer the fund, bringing its local knowledge and grant-making expertise to ensure funding reaches organisations with strong community roots and proven impact.
Groups wishing to apply are encouraged to check eligibility criteria and guidance before submitting an application.
