The Lucy Phillips Arts Fund was recently launched to support individuals, charitable and community organisations working in the visual arts. The fund will support activities that champion and celebrate the arts, and reach people and communities who might find it difficult to access the arts or arts training.
Lucy was known for her creativity, intelligence, compassion, community spirit and openness and a popular leader and champion of the arts across Leicester and the East Midlands.
Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation will be managing the fund and the first grants are expected to be given out later this year.
“Her love of the arts and her enthusiasm to make things happen was apparent to everyone she met, and this fund is fitting tribute to someone whose life and work touched so many.”
Chris Evans – Lucy’s husband
