The National Emergencies Trust Coronavirus Appeal has, since the 18th March, raised £20 million with £7.5 million from the appeal distributed to a network of 46 Community Foundations across the country. To date, Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation has received £73,000 for our region and in the first week gave grants to 16 local charitable, voluntary and community groups across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland who are helping those most affected by the Coronavirus crisis. Grants are given swiftly but with careful checks, and have so far gone to food banks, volunteer groups, food delivery and outreach services for those who most vulnerable
