In partnership with Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation, Mars award grants in areas surrounding their factories in Melton and Waltham on the Wolds. The Mars in the Community programme supports projects and activities that will deliver a positive benefit to the community within the themes of Petcare and Food.
Now, alongside Melton Borough Council, Mars is working to make Melton Mowbray the UK’s number one pet friendly town and to raise awareness of the benefits pets bring to our lives. As part of the campaign, Melton Mowbray is entering the Dog Friendly Awards – a competition that looks to find the places in the UK most welcoming to dogs. Even the local pets have been out on the campaign trail to gather votes and you can watch what they’ve been up to here!
The winner is chosen by public vote and the competition closes at the end of September. Please cast your vote for Melton here.
As part of its Pet Friendly Town campaign, so far Mars have launched a PAWsome scheme in the town to encourage pet friendly businesses; installed a pet agility course in the local park and are working to encourage responsible pet ownership through a series of evening talks.
