Mars Case Study
Pablo’s Horse Sanctuary
The cost of annual Public Liability Insurance
Pablo’s provides care to horses and ponies in need. This may be due to neglect, abuse, ignorance or because an owner can no longer care for them. The horses and ponies are looked after by a team of dedicated volunteers. A grant of £1,800 from Mars in the Community was used to cover the cost of the charity’s Public Liability Insurance.
During the past year Pablo’s Horse Sanctuary has worked with many organisations to provide Therapeutic horsemanship. This has helped people with behavioural challenges, mental health problems and learning difficulties. Other groups accessing the sanctuary have included school students on the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, students on veterinary courses and young people in care, amongst many others.
Carole Fielding, Charity Founder, said; ‘Without the funding from Mars the sanctuary would not be able to continue its work with the many disabled and disadvantaged people who access our organisation.’
Since receiving funding, Pablo’s has been able to welcome many more groups to the sanctuary.
