Essential repairs to Medbourne Children’s Playground
Medbourne Educational Foundation Trust aims to provide recreational facilities and opportunities for local children and young people.
The playground was initially installed in 2001 and when Medbourne applied to the Leicestershire Fund, the playground was in imminent danger of closure. A number of essential repairs were required to ensure the playground met with relevant safety standards and could remain open for use.
Sean Reid, Secretary and Treasurer, said; “The playground is an important community resource enjoyed by both local children and those visiting. The grant from the Leicestershire Fund has been absolutely vital in enabling us to keep the playground open for all to use.”
Since the grant from the Leicestershire Fund, the playground is now fully functional and benefits from ongoing community fundraising that ensures regular maintenance of the playground is carried out.
