Helping Hands Community Trust
To provide help, advice and support to people affected by new Local Housing Allowance legislation.
Helping Hands Community Trust aims to provide free, face to face, independent advice and information along with advocacy and counselling to people living in Oadby and Wigston.
Since the Leicestershire Fund grant, the package of care that Helping Hands Community Trust has been able to provide to people has been significantly increased. Help has extended to advice on debt rescheduling, problem landlords, legal guidance and even finding new accommodation.
Lesley Thornton, Trustee at Helping Hands Community Trust, says; “Despite the pressures of recession and the tightening legislation, people have received the best possible help and guidance. Those in need in the community have directly benefited from this grant.”
