The Baxter Hall Charity
The Baxter
Hall Charity received a grant from the Leicestershire Fund that has helped them
make the hall more accessible for disabled users. The grant paid for an
accessibility audit, then alterations were made and necessary equipment installed
to create accessible toilet facilities which included a much-needed baby
changing unit. Further improvements around the Hall included clearer signage,
banisters fitted at steps, a storage room and chairs with arms which make it
easier for people to sit down and stand up again.
The grant also paid for staff to attend
accessibility training, increasing their awareness of accessibility issues, and
health and safety.
