The Big Lottery is investing £70m nationally to improve the lives of older people by tackling social isolation.
Leicester’s initial partnership proposal, led by Vista, has made it through the first stage of the application process. If successful, this proposal will see the local area will receive between £2 million and £6 million to pilot projects that improve the lives of older people.
The next step of the application process is the creation of a strategy for how Leicester would use this funding to reduce loneliness and help older people to be more actively involved in their communities.
Vista is asking groups to feed into this strategy by giving their views on how to best support older people.
You can take part by coming along to Vista’s upcoming event: Ageing Better Summit
The event is taking place on 5th March 10.30am – 3pm at Voluntary Action Leicestershire, 9 Newarke Street, Leicester, LE1 5SN.
The event is part of creating a Leicester wide strategy on how Leicester would use Big Lottery money to improve the lives of older people. Learn more about Leicester’s bid here.Vista is hosting an event around ways to help ensure that older people are not lonely or socially isolated.
