Covid Support Grants Awarded
Without Walls Christian Fellowship
Without Walls Christian Fellowship has received a grant of £2,000 from the Wesleyan Foundation (small) towards the Thrive Project which supports the mental health of those who attended the pre-covid projects.
Pink Lizard Developing Youth and Community
Pink Lizard Developing Youth and Community has received a funding of £4125 towards Pink Lizard’s Community Meals on Wheels support Team. This delivers food, help and support to the most vulnerable people within the community.
St Matthew’s Big Local
St Matthew’s Big Local has received a grant of £3600. Funding is towards providing continuing targeted food delivery for the most vulnerable on the St Matthew’s estate between January to March 2021. Funding is from NET Covid 19 fund (Coop) and Bobby Dhanjal Foundation.
The Race Equality Centre
The Race Equality Centre has been awarded a grant of £5,000 from the NET COVID 19 (Coop) towards a food bank service for 4 months aimed at vulnerable clients that TREC are supporting. As well as food, the parcels will contain gas/electricity top up cards.
Leicester Community Radio
Leicester Community Radio has received a grant in the sum of £3750 from the NET COVID 19 Fund towards 3 months costs for LCR’s Ofcom Licence to provide Covid-19 broadcast program
Feed the Hungry UK
Feed the Hungry UK has received a £5000 grant from the NET (Co-op) towards the provision of Christmas hampers and volunteer travel expenses to distribute them. The packs will contain a frozen Christmas Day meal with games, treats dried food, fresh fruit and veg and other nutritious food for those most in need over the holiday period.
Falcon Support Services
Falcon Support Services has received a grant of £5000 from the NET COVID 19 Fund towards providing equipment for each room within a homeless shelter to further minimise COVID risk factors and ensure there are facilities to support individuals if they become symptomatic and need to self-isolate.
The Carers Centre
The Carers Centre has been awarded a grant of £5,000 from the New Normal Fund as a contribution towards staff costs to delivery online training sessions and telephone support to carers. Funding is also for use towards DBS checks for volunteers, a laptop and office/core costs.
Green Towers Hinckley Club 4 Young People
Green Towers Hinckley Club 4 Young People has received a grant of £3,229 from the NET COVID19 Fund towards 12 weeks of additional staffing costs to enable the centre to reopen for youth sessions in line with the NYA and government guidelines.
hab-antibullying has received a grant of £3,000. With £2,000 from Wesleyan Foundation (Small) and £1,000 from NET COVID 19 Fund, funding is towards the provision of 60 sessions of professional counselling for those suffering from or affected by bullying and its related issues or bereavement, stress, anxiety or domestic abuse (including key workers)
