Attune Music Therapy provides high quality, evidence based Music Therapy for adults and children, specialising in working with Acquired Brain Injury and Neurodisability. They provide individual and group sessions and work within the Health and Social Care sector with privately funding individuals, charities and specialist rehabilitation and care units. They are the only Music Therapy business in the UK to specialise in working with Acquired Brain Injury and Neurodisablity clients.
Funding of £1,700 from the John Salmon Fund enabled Attune Therapies to purchase instruments and cover other associated costs for the delivery of Music Therapy sessions for people who have acquired brain injury.
Music Therapy is a psychological intervention that uses the expressive elements of music as the primary means of interaction between the therapist and client, helping individuals to communicate in their own musical language whatever their level of ability. The benefits to clients cover four areas – namely physical functioning, communication, cognition and psychological/social functioning.
The aims of the therapy are tailored to the individual, and Attune is committed to furthering the provision of music therapy services to improve the lives of children and adults with a focus on physical, mental, social and emotional outcomes.
