The East Midlands Chamber of Commerce, which supports 4,000+ businesses, has a new President for 2023: Stuart Dawkins, who also happens to be the Chair of our Board of Trustees! Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation has a longstanding relationship with the East Midlands Chamber and manages the East Midlands Chamber Fund.
Each annual President selects three charities for their year, one from each county on the East Midlands patch: Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. The selected charities present at the many Chamber events of the year, and also receive any money raised at dinners and elsewhere.
Stuart selected us along with Foundation Derbyshire, and Nottinghamshire Community Foundation as his charities of the year. Could he have done otherwise?! It is an unusual and useful opportunity for the three Foundations to work together, as well as timely, as the Chamber promotes CSR/ESG strategies among its membership, which encompasses both SMES and major companies, across all sectors.
The three CEOs, Rachael Grime, Nina Dauban and Katy Green, launched their year at the Chambers’ Enterprising Women in Community event at Castle Donnington last month.
