Can you afford to give your Winter fuel Allowance to a good cause? If the answer is yes then Leicestershire couple Sue and Paul Newman are urging you to donate the cash to the 125 Winter Fund.
The money will go to either Age UK Leicestershire and Rutland, or the children’s cancer unit at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
Donations can me made online or by post. You can also make a pledge by e-mail.
The 125 Winter Fund has been backed by Leicestershire fitness guru Rosemary Conley. She said: “I’m very happy to give my winter fuel allowance to help someone else who needs it more. How great that so many of us “of a certain age” are linking up in Leicestershire and across the whole country like this, to make something really special happen.”
Bishop of Leicester, the Right Rev Tim Stevens said: “This is an innovative way of releasing the generosity of the people of our city and counties and helping local people old and young in real need.”
