Strategic changes to the Mars in the Community grants programme

Mars is committed to making a difference in the communities around its UK sites and the Mars in the Community programme has benefited organisations across the UK for many years.

Following a review Mars has decided to combine its two grants programmes into one.  Groups can now apply for grants from £500 upwards.  This simpler, more efficient approach will enable Mars to increase its impact in local communities.

Investment in communities local to Mars sites will remain a priority, and it is hoped that these changes can ensure the company’s support remains as effective in today's environment as it has been for the last 75 years.

Further information on local support is available on the website www.marsinthecommunity.co.uk

The Community Foundation now includes Leicestershire First in its portfolio. Leicestershire First promotes leadership, excellence and citizenship in the community. The charitable trust, which was launched by Maurice and Vivien Thompson, awards grants of £3,000 to nominated individuals.
