Setting up a Fund With Us
People who set up their own Fund with us live, or are based in, Leicestershire and Rutland. Some are major philanthropists. Some are companies. Others are families or groups of friends and colleagues.
We also distribute funds for public sector organisations like Comic Relief and emda.
Why People Give Through Us
• Until 2011 we can double private donations to create your own Fund.
• You name your Fund - perhaps after a family name or friend, a cause or place.
• You select who benefits - one issue or group or a wider area of interest: the arts, children, health or homelessness.
• If you don’t already have a charity or cause in mind, we can show you where you can make a real impact - we keep an updated “map” of needs across the two counties.
• We manage the legal and reporting requirements of setting up a Fund of your own, and we assess and monitor all our giving so money is spent effectively and as intended.
• Your donation(s) to your Fund is invested under professional management to create a yearly income for your giving, in perpetuity.
• We can also help you give over a defined timescale. We distribute funds on behalf of public organisations and local authorities, monitoring and reporting on required outcomes.
• We can set up a fund with just £1000, or manage substantial sums in cash or shares.
