Charities, Voluntary and Community Groups

Any group working to improve life for people who live in Leicestershire and Rutland – urban and rural areas - can apply to us. We do monitor our giving to ensure it’s spent as promised, and has real local impact.
We give in the form of grants, which range from £500 to up to £50,000. We aim to be as fair, consistent and open as possible, while making sure all money is spent effectively and as intended.

To apply, you need not be a registered charity, but you must:
1) Represent a group with clear charitable aim and a set of rules (a constitution)
2) Your group must have its own bank account, with at least two signatories.
We will always refer people to help setting up a group.

Application forms are as simple as possible, given the information we need to make a fair and informed decision. We offer help with forms, and our Grants Officer Jane Avery is available most weekdays to answer enquires.

Decisions are made four times a year, by a Grants Panel which is made up of our Trustees and advisors drawn from different communities across Leicestershire and Rutland. Individual donors may also be involved in decisions. We will always let you know why it wasn’t possible to give, if a decision is made not to give. Click here for a list of our current funds.
